Description
Ajax AJ-HUB2-W - Ajax professional alarm control panel with Ethernet and dual SIM 2G GPRS communication.
How does the Ajax HUB2 alarm control panel work?
Ajax is a wireless security system that protects against intrusion, fire and flooding, and lets users control electrical appliances directly from a mobile app. The system responds immediately to threats, informing you and the security company of every incident.
Hub2 is a smart security system control panel that supports detectors with photo verification of intrusions. As a key element of the security system, it controls the operation of Ajax devices and, in the event of a threat, immediately transmits alarm signals, informing the owner and the alarm receiving centre of the incident.
Hub2 requires an Internet connection to access the Ajax Cloud service for configuring and managing the system from anywhere in the world via the Ajax apps, communicating alarms and events, and updating the OS Malevich operating system firmware. The Ajax Cloud service is hosted on Amazon Web Services. All data is stored in a system with multi-level security, and information exchange with the hub takes place over an encrypted channel.
To communicate with the Ajax Cloud service, the hub uses a wired Internet connection (Ethernet) and two 2G SIM cards. Using all communication channels is recommended to ensure a more reliable connection to Ajax Cloud and to protect against the failure of one of the service providers.
Users can manage the security system and respond promptly to alarms and notifications through the apps designed for iPhone and Android smartphones, macOS and Windows. The system reports alarms and other events via push notifications, SMS and phone calls.
HUB2 controls your security, not your privacy
Hub2 controls the operation of all Ajax devices to alert users about open doors, broken windows and fire and flood threats. If burglars break into your home, Hub2 transmits images from the MotionCam detectors and notifies an alarm receiving centre of the danger. You will not have to live under the constant watch of security cameras to know what is going on.
- Foils burglars
- Prevents fires
- Detects flooding
- Does not spy on you
With HUB2 you will always be in touch
The Hub2 control panel uses Ethernet or one of the two 2G SIM cards to guarantee delivery of alarms and photos from the protected premises. The channels work in parallel and back each other up in an emergency.
The compression and transmission protocols guarantee fast delivery of the photo series, even with poor Internet connectivity. Unlike video camera streams, with Ajax you can assess the situation at the protected premises with an Internet speed of just 0.5 kB/s.
- Uses 3 independent communication channels
- Sends alarms in 0.15 seconds
- Transmits visual confirmation (photos) even over 2G
HUB2 is resilient to problems
With Hub2, you will know immediately if a detector is not working properly, if someone removes it, if it is damaged or if its housing is opened. Even in the event of a sudden power cut, the control panel keeps watch on its backup battery.
- Checks detector functionality at least every 12 seconds
- Alerts about threats, channel interference or faults
- Runs for up to 16 hours during a power cut
HUB2 sets up without hassle
Installing Hub 2 takes a few minutes. Connect it to the Internet and plug in the power cable. Then scan the QR code with the Ajax app. In most cases, devices need no additional adjustment. Hub 2 starts working as soon as it is online.
- Download the free app
- Scan the QR code
- Control it from anywhere in the world
What are the main features of the Ajax HUB2 alarm control panel?
Wireless alarm control panel for professional installations in both residential and commercial settings. Communication is via Ethernet and/or GPRS with dual SIM. The supervised two-way link with detectors and accessories is via radio frequency using its own protocol, Jeweller, in the 868 MHz band, achieving Grade 2 certification.
It supports up to 100 wireless zones, with the option of grouping these devices into up to 9 different groups, each of which can be armed, partially armed or disarmed. These Ajax wireless devices offer various configuration options such as 24-hour zone, zone with entry or exit delay, and so on.
The AJ-HUB2-W panel has an AC 110-250 V power input plus a rechargeable backup battery lasting up to 16 hours.
Its triple communication over Ethernet and dual SIM GPRS is its main advantage for remote access, for both the user and the installer, as it allows connection via the AJAX PRO Desktop PC software and the iOS and Android mobile apps Ajax Security Systems (end user) and AJAX PRO: Tool for Engineers (professionals). These apps allow you to configure the entire system, manage users and their permissions, add devices, group them into rooms and change their settings. Cloud use is compatible with dynamic IP addresses without the need to open ports.
Ajax users enjoy multiple advantages, receiving reliable, instant notifications both in the desktop software and in the mobile apps.
As an additional complement to the Ajax alarm system, up to 25 IP cameras or video recorder channels can be added from the mobile app to view the live video feed.

Important notice about the Ajax Hub 2 (2G)
For new installations, we do not recommend purchasing the Ajax Hub 2 with 2G connectivity.
This model relies exclusively on the 2G network for its SIM card communications. Due to the gradual shutdown of these networks in Spain and Europe, it could lose its mobile backup communication channel in the future.
The system could continue to operate over Ethernet, but it would no longer have mobile communication if the operator switches off the 2G network.
To guarantee a longer service life and compatibility with current networks, we recommend choosing the Ajax Hub 2 (4G/LTE).
