How does the Ajax STREETSIREN alarm siren work?
StreetSiren is a wireless outdoor siren with an output of up to 113 dB. It can be installed and configured quickly, is fitted with bright LEDs and can run on mains power or for up to 5 years on batteries.
StreetSiren works as part of the Ajax security system and connects to the Ajax hub via the Jeweller security protocol. It has a communication range of 1500 metres with no obstacles.
The siren is configured through a mobile app for iOS and Android smartphones or through the web app. The user is notified of all events via push notifications, SMS messages and calls (if enabled).
The device is fitted with a powerful buzzer and bright LEDs: StreetSiren can be seen and heard from a distance. When correctly installed, it is hard to dismount and disable a triggered siren: the housing is sturdy, the buzzer is protected by a metal mesh, it has its own independent power supply and even the on/off button locks in the event of an alarm.
StreetSiren is fitted with a tamper button and an accelerometer. The tamper button is triggered when the housing is opened, and the accelerometer is triggered by any attempt to move or dismount the device.
StreetSiren has IP54 protection against dust and moisture. If required, an external 12 V DC power supply can be connected. The built-in accelerometer will trigger the alarm if anyone attempts to remove the siren.
How is StreetSiren installed?
Ready to work straight out of the box: the battery is already installed, so there is no need to dismantle the siren. With just one click it can be connected to the control panel (Hub) in the app on your mobile device. It can be mounted on the SmartBracket in a few minutes.
When choosing the installation location for the StreetSiren, consider the distance to any obstacles that could block the radio signal and the sound: walls, intermediate floors or large objects within the room.
The communication range extends to 1500 metres with no obstacles. Please bear this in mind when choosing where to install the StreetSiren.
If the signal strength is only one bar, stable operation of the security system cannot be guaranteed. Take the necessary steps to improve signal quality! At the very least, move the device: relocating it by even 20 cm can significantly improve reception quality.
If the signal strength is still low or unstable after moving the device, use a ReX radio signal range extender.
The device has IP54-class protection against dust and moisture, so it can be placed outdoors. Recommended installation height: 2.5 metres or higher. This makes it harder for intruders to reach the device during a break-in.
